A: Having finally finished “The Orator” (bottom), I continue working on a small pastel painting that does not have a title yet (top). The latter is the third piece in my “Bolivianos” series.

A: I am continuing work on “The Orator,” 38″ x 58,” the second pastel painting in my new “Bolivianos” series.

A: I have two works in progress. Both are based on photographs I shot at a stunning mask exhibition in La Paz, Bolivia in May. At present I am tying to ‘ramp up’ my imagery and believe these two pastel paintings to be particularly striking. However, both still have a long way to go so I hope I’m not speaking too soon.

A: I’m putting finishing touches on a small, 20″ x 26,” pastel painting called, “Survivors.”

A: I continue working on a large, 38″ x 58″, pastel painting called, “Conundrum” and am happy with how it’s progressing. A few days ago I added the small triangle to the right of the central figure. I felt some compositional element was needed there and believe this is an improvement.

A: I am working on a large 38″ x 58″ pastel painting that depicts figures found years ago in Oaxaca and Mexico City. This painting doesn’t have a title yet.
